How your data is handled
Effective June 30, 2026
DRIFT is built around a simple promise: the people you care about, and the notes you keep about them, belong to you.
The people you add, your interaction history, notes, and reminder preferences are stored on your device. This information is private to you and is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.
AI features are optional and remain off until you give explicit consent in the app. When you use AI Chat or an AI-personalized reach-out suggestion, the following is sent securely to Claude, an AI model operated by Anthropic, accessed through the Vercel AI Gateway: your chat messages, and — for suggestions — the names of people you have added, their relationship type, how long since you last connected, and any notes you saved about them. This data is used solely to generate your response. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to train AI models. You can withdraw consent anytime in Settings, and every non-AI feature works without it.
An account is optional — you can use the app without signing up. If you create an account, your name and email are stored on your device to identify you. We use this only to operate the app.
You can permanently delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your account details (name and email) and all people, notes, and interaction history stored in the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. We never see or store your payment card details. Apple processes billing under its own privacy policy.
You can edit or delete any person, note, or interaction at any time. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.
DRIFT is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and reflect the changes here.
